Vanguard ZERO Aqua Force Maelstrom Deck Build and Guide

Here's a quick guide and tips for Aqua Force Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom Deck users in the RPG mobile card game Vanguard ZERO. Available for Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).

Aqua Force is a clan with units that can activate skills based on the number of attacks. In order to attack a 4th time, call an attacker to your back row, use the skill of "Basil" or "Diamantes" to exchange positions between the front and back row rear-guards, and increase the number of times you can attack!

Trigger Sets

Rank Fight Trigger Set

   - Critical Trigger (x0), Draw Trigger (x9), Stand Trigger (x0), and Heal Trigger (x4)
   - Refer to the build above (screenshot) for example Triggers Set for specific cards. Reduce and balance Draw Triggers if you are getting "Deck Outs".

For Non Rank Fight Battles

   - NOTE: Feel free to experiment with other Trigger Sets according to your preference. Add more Critical Triggers and/or Stand Triggers if you want to use this deck for certain events, like non Rank Fights that would require you to finish the battle asap.

Bermuda Triangle Battle Strategies

Mulligan (Starting Cards)

   - Any Grade 1 Cards (G1) = Keep x1 or x2, to ensure a Grade 1 ride.
   - Any Grade 2 Cards (G2) = Keep x1 or x2, to ensure a Grade 2 ride (avoid riding Basil (G2)).
   - Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom (G3) = Keep x1, to ensure a Grade 3 Vanguard (high priority!).

   - Emerald Shield, Paschal (G1) = Keep at least x1 (optional).

Basic Battle Strategies

   - Aqua Force can start doing multi attacks once you ride a Grade 2 Vanguard, but this build would not focus on that because it's a bit risky, for example the whole thing can go to waste once your opponent draws "Defensive Triggers", so we will focus more on Maelstrom (G3).

   - Conserve your cards early on until you can ride Maelstrom (G3) to properly set up the field, especially against certain decks.
   - If you still don't have Maelstrom (G3) or any viable Grade 3 card during your 2nd turn, you can use your Officer Cadet, Erikk (FV) to search, if you have.

   - In case of a miss-ride, go with any viable Grade 3 card you have for now, then re-ride Maelstrom (G3) later on.

How To Use Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom (G3)

Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom (G3)Storm Rider, Diamantes (G3)Storm Rider, Basil (G2)
   - (VC): When this unit attacks a Vanguard, it gets +3,000 Power until end of battle.

   - (VC): LB4 When this unit attacks a Vanguard, if it is the 4th battle of that turn or more, it gets +5,000 Power, and the following ability until end of battle. "(VC): At the end of the battle this unit attacked, draw a card, and retire 1 of your opponent's rear-guards."

   - NOTE: Limit Break skills can be used earlier than usual by using self damaging cards like Reliable Strategic Commander (G1) or Veteran Strategic Commander (G2).

   - You need to do 4 attacks in order to activate Maelstrom's (G3) skill, here's an example:
   - Battle Preparation: Don't forget to place a high Power card behind your Diamantes (G3) before attacking (preferably an Intercept card to setup defense). If you have Aqua Breath Dracokid (FV), use it's skill to Maelstrom (G3).

   - 1st Attack = Use Diamantes (G3) to attack the Vanguard (12,000 Power), if your opponent got an Intercept card, use his CB1 skill first to ignore them. After the attack, switch to the unit behind this card.
   - 2nd Attack = Attack using 1 of your front rear-guards.
   - 3rd Attack = Attack using 1 of your front rear-guards (preferably Coral Assault (G2) or Xenophon (G3) for added Power).
   - 4th Attack = Use Maelstrom (G3) to attack the Vanguard.

   - NOTE: You can replace Diamantes (G3) above with Basil (G2). Your attacks doesn't need to hit, it would still count as an attack.
   - In case you are up against "Cross Ride" decks (with 13,000 base Power Vanguard), your Diamantes (G3) won't be able to hit, so use your Aqua Breath Dracokid (FV) or Accelerated Command (G1) to buff him up first.

Counter Blasts

Officer Cadet, Erikk (FV)Storm Rider, Diamantes (G3)Storm Rider, Basil (G2)Navalgazer Dragon (G3)
   - Officer Cadet, Erikk (FV) = CB1 and put this unit into your Soul to look at 5 cards from the top of your deck, and add a Grade 3 or greater card to your hand. Use if you have this card and if needed.
   - Storm Rider, Diamantes (G3) = (1/Turn) CB1 and until end of turn, if it is the 1st battle of that turn, this unit can ignore "Intercept" when attacking. Most CBs will be used here.
   - Storm Rider, Basil (G2) = (1/Turn) CB1 and until end of turn, if it is the 1st battle of that turn, this unit can ignore "Intercept" when attacking. Most CBs will be used here.

   - Navalgazer Dragon (G3) = When this unit's attack hits, CB2 to stand 2 of your rear-guards.
   - NOTE: Also consider other card effects that requires Counter Blasts if needed.

How To Build 21,000+ Power Columns

Vanguard + Booster

   - Blue Storm Dragon, Maelstrom (G3) = 11,000 base Power Vanguard (14,000 Power when attacking a Vanguard).
   - Maelstrom (G3) + Any Booster with 6,000 Power = 20,000 total Power (25,000 Power if it's the 4th battle or more).

   - Navalgazer Dragon (G3) = 11,000 base Power Vanguard (14,000 Power when attacking a Vanguard).
   - Navalgazer Dragon (G3) + Any Booster with 6,000 Power = 20,000 total Power (23,000 Power if it's the 3rd battle or more).

Rear Guards + Booster

   - Any 6,000 Booster (G1)
   - 6,000 Booster (G1) + Any Rear Guard with 10,000~13,000 Power = 16,000~19,000 total Power (21,000~24,000 Power with +5,000 "Trigger Check" buff).

   - NOTE: Other cards not included here are also OK to use but some are very situational or unsustainable, use them if you like. Also adjust the numbers above depending on your Booster's Power.
