Vanguard ZERO: Neo Nectar Musketeer Deck Build and Guide


Here's a quick guide and tips for Neo Nectar Musketeer Deck users in the RPG mobile card game Vanguard ZERO. Available for Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).

NOTE: Neo Nectar cards are available from limited Clan Events. During the event, farm "Event Tickets" from Character Fights and use those to Challenge Mai Tobita to get exclusive items that will be used to play the limited time Gacha that only features Neo Nectar cards!


Neo Nectar Musketeer Deck

Notable Info

   - Good Defense = You can call more Intercept Cards from your Hand or Deck!
   - Recyclable Triggers = If you have cards that can recycle a card back to your deck.

First Vanguard and Sentinel Cards (PG)

Broccolini Musketeer, Kirah (FV)Maiden of Blossom Rain PG
   - Broccolini Musketeer, Kirah (FV) = CB1 and put this unit into your Soul to look at 5 cards from the top of your deck, and add a Grade 3 or greater card to your hand.
   - Maiden of Blossom Rain (G1) = Add at least x2, but aim for x3 or x4.

Recommended Cards (Must Have)

White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3)
   - White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3) = Add x4, your main Vanguard for this build.
   - Would also recommend getting all "Musketeer" cards below.

Suggested Cards To Add (Budget Cards)

Grade 1 Cards

   - Water Lily Musketeer, Ruth (G1) = Add up to x4, can reach 10,000 Power if you have a "Musketeer" Vanguard (front row).
   - Tulip Musketeer, Mina (G1) = Add x2~x4. Mainly used to add damage to your Damage Zone to activate Limit Breaks earlier than usual.
   - Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Rebecca (G1) = Add up to x4. When placed, CB1 and retire 1 of your other "Musketeer" rear-guards to look at 4 cards from the top of your deck, and call a "Musketeer".
   - Corolla Dragon (G1) = Add x2, nice base Power and Defense, also used to Boost Black Lily Musketeer, Hermann (G3) to hit 21,000 Power.

Grade 2 Cards

   - Cherry Blossom Musketeer, Augusto (G2) = Add x4, can reach 12,000 Power if you have a "Musketeer" Vanguard.
   - Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Kaivant (G2) = Add x3~x4. When placed, CB1 and retire 1 of your other "Musketeer" rear-guards to look at 4 cards from the top of your deck, and call a "Musketeer".
   - Tulip Musketeer, Almira (G2) = Add x1~x2. Mainly used to add damage to your Damage Zone to activate Limit Breaks earlier than usual.
   - Spiritual Tree Sage, Irminsul (G2) = Add x3~x4, low Power but can call a unit from your deck if you are lucky. Also used to reduce non-trigger cards and help shuffle deck when needed.
   - Knight of Verdure, Gene (G2) = Add x4, only if you want to add Gene (G3) cards, mainly used to Intercept attacks.

Grade 3 Cards

   - Black Lily Musketeer, Hermann (G3) = Add x4, can reach 13,000 Power when Boosted, and also used as your sub Vanguard.
   - Frontline Valkyrie, Laurel (G3) = Add up yo x4, can reach 12,000 Power when attacking a Vanguard.
   - World Snake, Ouroboros (G3) = Add up to x4. When this unit's attack hits, you may discard a card from your hand. If you discarded, draw a card.

   - NOTE: Feel free to try other cards not listed here, and add any Grade 3 cards you have available, just make sure to follow the recommended Trigger Set below.

RRR and Other Cards (If Available)

Gene G3
   - Knight of Harvest, Gene (G3) = Add x4, excellent rear guard unit. When attack hits a Vanguard, return it to your deck to call 2 Knight of Verdure, Gene (G2) from your deck as Rest.

   - NOTE: Feel free to try other cards not listed here, and add any Grade 3 cards you have available, just make sure to follow the recommended Trigger Set below.

Example Deck Builds

   - NOTE: For cards that you don't have, just use the guide above to add filler cards to your deck for now, but if you want to add cards to the existing ones, feel free to do so. Also note that new cards might become available in the future, so feel free to test them out as well.

Trigger Sets

Rank Fight Trigger Set

   - Critical Trigger (x0), Draw Trigger (x9), Stand Trigger (x0), and Heal Trigger (x4)
   - Refer to the build above (screenshot) for example Triggers Set for specific cards. Reduce and balance Draw Triggers if you are getting "Deck Outs".

For Non Rank Fight Battles

   - NOTE: Feel free to experiment with other Trigger Sets according to your preference. Add more Critical Triggers and/or Stand Triggers if you want to use this deck for certain events, like non Rank Fights that would require you to finish the battle asap.

Neo Nectar Battle Strategies

Mulligan (Starting Cards)

   - Any Grade 1 Card (G1) = Keep x1 or x2 as Grade 1 ride.
   - Any Grade 2 Card (G2) = Keep x1 or x2 as Grade 2 ride (except Gene (G2) if you have).
   - White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3) = Keep x1, to ensure a Grade 3 ride (top priority!).

   - Maiden of Blossom Rain (G1) = Keep at least x1.

Basic Battle Strategies

   - This deck build will focus on defense (try to place 1 or 2 intercept cards per turn), and using skills that would increase your field presence.

   - If you still don't have Cecilia (G3) during your 2nd turn, use your FV's skill to search.
   - In case of a miss-ride, go and ride Black Lily Musketeer, Hermann (G3) for now then re-ride Cecilia (G3) once available.

Water Lily Musketeer, Ruth (G1)Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Kaivant (G2)
   - Use Rebecca (G1) and Kaivant (G2) to try to switch in Grade 2 "Musketeer" cards to intercept attacks (this is luck based though) or Boosters if needed. Place or select Grade 1 or 3 "Musketeer" cards that you don't need.
   - These cards can also help increase your Drop Zone cards for Cecilia's (G3) Limit Break skill later on. Basically, the play is to send Grade 1 cards or to let your opponent send your Grade 2 cards to the Drop Zone, then use your Vanguard's skill to recycle them back to deck.
   - Also puse Irminsul (G2) to help get the cards you need.

Gene G3Gene G2
  - If you have these "Gene" cards, use Knight of Verdure, Gene (G2) and land his attack to switch in Knight of Harvest, Gene (G3), place to the back row to save him for next turn. You'll lose an Intercept card but you'll be able to gain 2 next turn by doing the same method with Knight of Harvest, Gene (G3).

How To Use White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3)

White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3)
   - (VC): LB4 (1/Turn), CB1 and return 5 Grade 2 or less "Musketeer" cards from your Drop Zone to your deck to call 2 Cecilia (G3).
   - Use when you have at least three Grade 2 "Musketeer" cards in your Drop Zone.
   - Note that the x2 Cecilia (G3) will not come from your deck, so you won't lose your Triggers. Use them for her 2nd skill to switch in Grade 1 or 2 "Musketeer" cards.

   - NOTE: Limit Break skills can be used earlier than usual by using self damaging cards like Tulip Musketeer, Mina (G1) or Tulip Musketeer, Almira (G2).

   - (VC): (1/Turn) Retire 1 of your "Musketeer" rear-guards to look at 5 cards from the top of your deck, and call a "Musketeer".
   - Select and retire Grade 0, 1 or 3 "Musketeer" cards that you don't need, it doesn't have any additional cost so you can use this skill every turn!

Counter Blasts

   - Broccolini Musketeer, Kirah (FV) = CB1 and put this unit into your Soul to look at 5 cards from the top of your deck, and add a Grade 3 or greater card to your hand.
   - White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3) = LB4 (1/Turn), CB1 and return 5 Grade 2 or less "Musketeer" cards from your Drop Zone to your deck to call 2 Cecilia (G3).

   - Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Rebecca (G1) = When placed, CB1 and retire 1 of your other "Musketeer" rear-guards to look at 4 cards from the top of your deck, and call a "Musketeer".
   - Lily of the Valley Musketeer, Kaivant (G2) = When placed, CB1 and retire 1 of your other "Musketeer" rear-guards to look at 4 cards from the top of your deck, and call a "Musketeer".

   - NOTE: Also consider other card effects that requires Counter Blasts if needed.

How To Build 21,000+ Power Columns

Vanguard + Booster

   - White Lily Musketeer, Cecilia (G3) ) = 11,000 base Power Vanguard.
   - Cecilia (G3) + Any Booster with 6,000~7,000 Power = 17,000~18,000 total Power (22,000~23,000 Power with +5,000 "Trigger Check" buff).

Rear Guards + Booster

   - Any 7,000 Booster (G1)
   - 7,000 Booster (G1) + Any Rear Guard with 9,000~11,000 Power = 16,000~18,000 total Power (21,000~23,000 Power with +5,000 "Trigger Check" buff).

   - NOTE: Other cards not included here are also OK to use but some are very situational or unsustainable, use them if you like. Also adjust the numbers above depending on your Booster's Power.
