Here's a quick walkthrough and strategy guide for the Epic Quest: Aloe, Salut! stages, in the strategy defense game - Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time!
How to Plant Guide:
- | Sunflower | Peashooter | Peashooter | Wall |- This means: Plant Sunflowers in the 1st column from the left, Peashooters in the 2nd and 3rd columns, then Wall-Nuts in the 4th column.
Power-Ups
- Using Power-Ups is optional, unless it is highly recommended.

Aloe, Salut! - Step 1
- Formation: | Reeds | Reeds | Reeds | None | Aloe | Wall |- Lightning Reeds: Plant them on those Golden Tiles first to get Sun.
- PF: Any
- Iceberg Lettuce: Use them to stall enemies
- Wall-Nuts: Plant over them to replenish their health.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 2
- Formation: | Pea | Torchwood | Aloe | Primal Wall | Any~ |- PF: Peashooter vs the last wave of tough zombies.
- Once you complete the formation, just spam all remaining plants in the next columns to disrupt zombies.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 3
- Plants to Upgrade: (In-order)- Peashooters > Repeaters > Threepeaters
- Wall-nuts > Endurians
- Match all Aloe first.
- Match Endurians or Wall-nuts from your back lines, because they can't reach the enemies anyway.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 4 (Protect the Plants)
- Formation: | Primal Pea | Primal Pea | Endurian | Spike |- PF: Any
- Stallia and Iceberg Lettuce: Place them early game on those Golden Tiles to get Sun (use Shovel if you need to replace), then use to stall enemies.
- Blover: vs flying zombies and parrots (wait for it to fly before using).
- E.M. Peach: Use it to stall those big machines.
- Spikes: Just spam them in-front of your Endurians, and to defeat Excavator zombies.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 5
- Formation: | Primal Pea | Kernel-pult | Kernel-pult |- PF: Any
- Puff-shroom, Chili Bean, Stallia and Iceberg Lettuce: Place them early game on those Golden Tiles to get Sun (use Shovel if you need to replace), then use to stall enemies.
- Blover: vs flying zombies.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 6
- Formation: | None | None | Lightning Reed | Kernel-pult |- PF: Use 1 on your Lightning Reed to get rid of those Turquoise Skull Zombies fast.
- Puff-shroom, Chili Bean, Stallia and Iceberg Lettuce: Place them early game on those Golden Tiles to get Sun (use Shovel if you need to replace), then use to stall enemies.
- Blover: vs flying and swinging zombies, especially those Swashbuckler zombies.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 7 (Plan Your Defense)
- Formation: | Sun Bean | Sun Bean |- PF: You have lots of PF, just use it to defend your Sun Beans and against the Gargantuar.
Aloe, Salut! - Step 8
- Formation: | A.K.E.E | Red Stringer | Red Stringer | Tall-Nut |- PF: Any
- Stallia: Place some of them on those Gold Tiles early game, then use to stall zombies.
- Note: Use A.K.E.Es to counter Excavator zombies. If they managed to pull your Tall-nuts, replace with a Red Stringer.
