If you are experiencing too much lag while playing, having black screens, black characters, objects or images while playing Android games through Bluestacks, then you might want to refer to our best solution below.
*Note that all PC specs stated below have been tested by multiple players, and the solutions presented are one of the best ways to solve this problem.
Playing Android Games with Bluestacks 2
Example PC Specs: Playable
- OS: Windows 7 32-Bit (x86) or higher- 4GB RAM
- 2GB DDR3 Video Card or better
The Good Old Stuffs
- If you still run the above example PC specs (or close), most game apps like those "2D mobile games" or simple "3D games" can still run smoothly.- Bluestacks 2 is also one of the few Android Emulators that can run without virtualization support which is good.
Now the Problem:
- The first problem is, you'll eventually need to install newer versions like the Bluestacks 3 to be able to play those new and upcoming mobiles games, that Bluestacks 2 can't.- Also, Bluestacks 2 can't be upgraded to Bluestacks 3, you need to fresh install newer versions to enjoy these new features, major improvements and more.
Using Above PC Specs with Bluestacks 3
RAM Problem and It's Effects
- Now this is a problem especially for long time PC users, because any Operating System as long that it is a 32-Bit (x86) version, is no longer recommended because it will only cap your RAM to 3.5GB or even lower!- Bluestacks 3 needs more RAM to smoothly run newer games these days.
- Note: Tweaking Bluestacks' RAM via "regedit" won't solve this problem either.
Black Screens, Characters, Objects or Images
- This is primarily caused by insufficient RAM, so better upgrade your PC to be able to play your favorite mobile game and all other future games.- Installing big games will also fail during data downloads because of the lag and low overall PC performance, and even if you are successful, you'll still experience too much lag when playing.
- Note: Disk Space also contributes to this problem, so make sure to free up at least 20% or 1/3 of total space.
Extreme Lag!
Virtualization Technology
- Another thing to check out why you are experiencing too much lag, is because Bluestacks 3 now requires virtualization technology support. You can check this from your BIOS if it is enabled.- For Intel, the BIOS option is VT-x and/or VT-d = Enabled
- for AMD, AMD-V = Enabled
- If none, then most probably your PC hardware parts needs some upgrades.
- Search for online tutorials on how to check your PC's BIOS if you need help.
- Note: Disk Space also contributes to this problem, so make sure to free up at least 20% or 1/3 of total space.
Playing Android Games with Bluestacks 3
Example PC Specs: Quick Recommendations
- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (x64) or higher (would recommend Windows 10 64-Bit). This will remove the RAM cap and enable you to use over 3.5GB of RAM.- Get a x64-based Processor, and a Motherboard that can support that Processor (best if you can verify that they have virtualization support too, most new computer parts these days have this technology).
- Note: Virtualization Technology Support will dramatically increase speed, but if you are using hypervisors like VirtualBox or VMWare, they might cause speed problems, so it is recommended to turn them off.
- 8GB RAM
- 2GB DDR3 Video Card or better (optional, update drivers too)
- Disk Space must not be full, free up at least 20% or 1/3 of total space. Bluestacks 3 recommends at least 40GB of free space.
RAM Settings
- Check the settings section in Bluestacks to adjust RAM, example setting: 1800MB.- Congratulations, you now have a sweet running Android emulator for your PC!
- Good luck! ^^
